National K-9 Veterans Day

This truly brave dog often leads members of his soldier's team in the most terrible conditions to save lives and complete missions.

They have given their lives for their country, and we are grateful to honor them on this special day.

Multi-purpose canines (MPCs), used in Special Operations teams.

They are a small subset of military dogs, but they can serve a very important role.

Military worker dogs provide Special Operations Command (SOCOMD) with special sensing, detection, and protection capabilities to combat a variety of threats in a wide range of environments, both at home and abroad.
This is achieved through a team of working dogs and highly trained military stands.

Dogs have a sense of smell and hearing that are far superior to humans, are obedient and responsive if well trained, and can operate effectively for long periods of time.

Special operations military worker dogs perform several roles:

Detection: explosives or drugs.

Tracking, especially enemy movements in the area of operation.
Early warning about enemy positions.

Protection of assets and personnel—the psychological impact of dogs against enemies.

Military dogs are very loyal to their owners.

Special operations military workers' dogs consist of different races and ages and are obtained directly from farmers or animal rescue organizations.

Mixed breeds have proven effective in detecting explosions, like pure dog breeds.
Some roles really require a dog to fulfill a purpose and are suitable for working in a particular operating environment.

Military worker dogs have a very close relationship with the designated path and, of course, with all the members of the unit where they are placed and are considered responsible dogs, inseparable components of their respective units.

Due to the increased integration of military working dogs by Special Operations forces, they have become commonplace in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria.

Currently, there are more than 2,500 dogs serving in the military, more than 700 of which have been sent abroad.

These dogs are very loyal and brave, and they have saved the lives of many operators during the ongoing war.
